Area question unsupported on tester app?

Kevin Martins Apr 11, 2018 10:58AM EDT

Hello all,

When setting up an area question in survey solutions, while using tester app on my android device. I've this error: "your device doesn't support this functionality".

Am I missing something here?

Your help would be highly appreciated.

Dear Kevin,

just use a 32-bit device with the same app and the feature will work there. At the moment we don’t have a version that will be compatible with x64 platform.

There is no separate registration of the beta testers. You can download and test the most recent release from the market and if you have any feedback, please post it in this forum. We will follow up on your findings.

Best, Sergiy

Dear Kevin,

Which device are you using? We don’t support x64 devices.

Best regards,

Dear Aleksandra & Sergiy,

Thanks for your reply. You're right, it's a x64 device.
It's possible for me to be part of the beta testers?

Kind Regards,
Kevin Martins

Dear Sergiy and Kevin,
I had faced the same issue a few weeks ago using a Oneplus 3 to test a survey and it didn't work (I assume due to a 64 bit processor). I decided to test this now on a Samsung Tab A (2016), the SM-T585 which has a 64 bit processor and the area question worked. Does this mean that area questions are now supported for all processors?
Regards,
Nick Barton

Nick, no, this doesn’t mean it. It is a combination of the OS and processor that matters, but the manufacturers usually don’t specify the OS details, so conservatively, the offline maps feature of Survey Solutions is not compatible with the 64-bit CPUs, but occasionally it may still work. Test before making important decisions.

Best, Sergiy
