Validation condition to check answers to list questions are unique

Andreas Kutka Jan 10, 2018 05:15AM EST

Dear Survey Solutions team

I am looking for a way to check that the answers to a list question are unique. Is there a good way to do this? I have tried:

1. A validation condition on the list question: ListQuestion.All(x=>x.Item2.Count==1)

2. Creating a variable on the roster linked to the list question to count the rows with the same @rowname, but could not get it to work.

Many thanks

Dear Andreas,

very good question. I have added an example into the “Public example User questions and common patterns” questionnaire. See the section “Verify uniqueness”.

The syntax that you’ve shown in your post is not correct, because x.Item2 will be string. So Count==1 will not make sense for it.
